Students Shine at National Synchronized Skating Cup

Two Whitchurch High School students, Lowri (Year 7) and Paige (Year 9), delivered outstanding performances as part of the Synchro Caerdydd Calon Ice Team at the BIS National Synchronized Skating Cup, held in Nottingham as part of the prestigious Britannia Cupat the National Ice Centre.

Representing their club at one of the key events in the national skating calendar, the girls demonstrated exceptional commitment, teamwork, and determination throughout the season. Their hard work paid off as Calon Ice claimed an impressive second-place finish, competing against strong teams from across the UK and beyond.

Adding to the pride of the occasion, the team is coached by Lucy Strange, a former Whitchurch High School student who is now inspiring the next generation of talented skaters. Her journey from pupil to coach is a fantastic example of the lasting impact of dedication and passion within our school community.

This remarkable achievement reflects not only the skill of the skaters but also the support of their teammates, coaches, and families.
Congratulations to Lowri, Paige, Lucy, and the entire Calon Ice team — you’ve made Whitchurch High School incredibly proud.
