Year 7 Students Shine at Cardiff University's Rising Mathematicians Festival
A group of our Year 7 students recently enjoyed an exciting and inspiring day at the School of Mathematics, Cardiff University, where they took part in the Rising Mathematicians Festival.
Throughout the event, students challenged themselves with a variety of mathematical problem-solving activities designed to develop their logical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills. They embraced a range of complex puzzles and dilemmas, demonstrating impressive determination and resilience as they worked through each challenge.
The day concluded with an engaging investigation into number bases, giving students the opportunity to explore mathematical concepts beyond those typically encountered in the classroom.
It was wonderful to see our students approach each activity with such enthusiasm, curiosity, and confidence. The experience provided a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of mathematics while working alongside students from other schools in a university setting.
We are incredibly proud of the way they represented Whitchurch High School throughout the day and would like to congratulate everyone involved on their excellent participation and positive attitude.
