Eisteddfod

Year 7 Eisteddfod Celebrates Welsh Culture and Outstanding Talent

The spirit of Welsh culture was proudly on display at Whitchurch High School as over 400 of our Year 7 students took part in this year’s annual Eisteddfod. The celebration showcased an impressive range of talents, with students competing and performing in on‑stage events, choral performances, instrumental pieces, poetry recitals, drama acts and more.

Throughout the day, the energy, creativity and confidence demonstrated by our students was truly inspiring. The sense of community and enthusiasm for Welsh language and culture made the event a memorable celebration for everyone involved.

We were delighted to welcome Welsh music legend Mei Gwynedd as our guest performer. His performance was a real highlight of the day, bringing students and staff together in song and celebration, and creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

Congratulations to all of our prize winners:

  • Bardd y Flwyddyn: Albie Clarke
  • Disgybl y Flwyddyn: Nicole Huang
  • Dosbarth y Flwyddyn: 7N
  • Overall House Winners: Tŷ Gwyrdd

Da dawn to every student who took part, whether performing on stage or supporting behind the scenes. Your enthusiasm, commitment and talent made this year’s Eisteddfod a fantastic celebration of Welsh heritage and culture. We are incredibly proud of you all!
