Students Inspired by Unforgettable Trip to CERN and Geneva

Our Sixth Form students have recently returned from an unforgettable and inspiring trip to CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research and home of the world‑famous Large Hadron Collider.

During their visit, students explored CERN’s interactive exhibitions, toured the fascinating Antimatter Factory, and had the opportunity to speak directly with scientists and engineers working at the very forefront of global scientific research. The experience brought their Physics studies to life, offering a real insight into how scientists investigate the fundamental nature of matter, forces and the origins of the universe.

The trip also included a visit to the Geneva Observatory, where students were guided by PhD Physics students who shared their expertise and research journeys. Beyond the scientific highlights, the group enjoyed exploring the cultural and historical aspects of Geneva, including visits to the History of Science Museum and the city’s beautiful Old Town.

This truly enriching experience sparked curiosity, deepened understanding and highlighted the exciting opportunities available in STEM subjects. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to see where their studies could lead and to engage with real-world science on an international stage.

Well done to all students involved for representing the school so positively, an inspiring trip that will no doubt be remembered for years to come.
