Bronze Award

Whitchurch High School Achieves UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools Bronze Award

Whitchurch High School is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Bronze Award as part of the UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools programme.

This recognition marks an important first step in the school’s journey to embed children’s rights throughout its ethos, values and everyday practice. The Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) supports schools in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) at the heart of school life, promoting respect, equality and inclusion for all students.

Achieving the Bronze Award demonstrates that Whitchurch High School is committed to raising awareness of children’s rights and has begun to take meaningful steps to ensure that these principles are understood and upheld across the school community. This includes introducing students to their rights, encouraging respect for the rights of others, and beginning to build a culture where every young person feels valued, safe and heard.

The school will now continue its journey towards the Silver and Gold Awards, further developing its approach and deepening the impact of rights-respecting values in teaching, learning and student voice.

This achievement reflects the dedication of staff and students alike, and the school is excited to build on this strong foundation in the months ahead.
