Staff Raise Over £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support

During the recent INSET day, staff at Whitchurch High School came together for a fantastic cause, hosting a coffee morning and cake sale in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. The event, organised by Mrs. Harding, saw staff from across the school join forces to raise more than £300 for the charity.

The coffee morning, part of Macmillan’s nationwide initiative to raise money for those affected by cancer, featured an array of delicious homemade cakes and treats donated by staff. Colleagues gathered to enjoy a morning of camaraderie, all while raising funds to support Macmillan’s vital work in providing care and support for cancer patients and their families.

Mrs. Harding, who led the organisation of the event, expressed her gratitude to everyone who participated: "I am incredibly proud of the Whitchurch High School staff for their generosity and enthusiasm. This is a cause close to many of our hearts, and I’m thrilled we could come together to raise such a fantastic amount for Macmillan. It’s a testament to the caring and supportive community we have here."

Mr. John echoed these sentiments, highlighting the importance of giving back: "As a school, we strive to not only educate but also instill values of empathy and community in our staff and students. Supporting Macmillan Cancer Support is one way we can contribute to a cause that helps so many people in need."

The funds raised will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, which provides emotional, physical, and financial assistance to individuals living with cancer, as well as to their loved ones. The coffee morning was a reminder of the power of small actions making a big difference in the lives of others.

Whitchurch High School is proud to support important charitable causes like Macmillan, and events like this coffee morning demonstrate the school’s commitment to giving back to the community. Congratulations to everyone involved in this heartwarming effort!
