Year 13 Farewell

A Memorable Leaver's Assembly

On Friday, 24th May, Whitchurch High School bid a fond farewell to Year 13 during their Leaver’s Assembly. This annual event was a vibrant celebration, highlighting the tradition of fancy dress that brought an extra layer of joy to the proceedings. Students showcased their creativity, arriving as bananas in pyjamas, Disney princesses, and even swapping rugby tracksuits for cheerleading outfits, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.

The assembly featured a series of student awards presented by the Student Leadership team, recognising the outstanding achievements and contributions of Year 13 students. Additionally, the assembly was graced with a remarkable musical performance. A group of talented Year 13 students formed especially for this occasion, delivering a stunning rendition of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black," showcasing their exceptional musical abilities.

A poignant moment of the assembly was the farewell to Darryn Havard, who is retiring after 15 years as Head of Sixth Form. The year group honoured him with a signed canvas from all the students and a selection of golfing gifts, expressing their gratitude and best wishes.

The event was further enriched by the presence of numerous teachers, all gathered to wish the Year 13 students’ success in their future endeavours.
